New Naples Sprint Triathlon on July 8th
The New Naples Sprint Triathlon is ready for action as beautiful Sugden Regional Park will open its gates for what promises to be a great event. Swimmers will start on the sandy beach in the swimming area and swim exactly a quarter mile across to the Margaret A. Sugden Amphitheater where another fine sand beach awaits their transition to the bike. Spectators will have a unique view of the swim from either the elevated amphitheater or the several piers that jut out into the crystal clear freshwater lake that will bring them closer to the action and provide ample photo opportunities.
A quick sprint across the hand set pavers and it's on to the bike. Then it is off to the run in one of the best places in all of Southwest Florida in that runners will have nearly 100% water views of wetlands, lakes, beaches, sailboats, the sailing center, piers, wildlife and all while running in mostly shade. Friends and family will greet racers at the finish in the front of the amphitheater. Register early as this course will be limited in number this year. The Naples Sprint Duathlon at North Collier Regional Park is an exciting NEW Duathlon only event. It will feature a beautiful venue, scenic and varied run courses, a technical bike course with several speed traps producing accelerations, curvy park roads requiring concentration, and several long, straight burner areas to maximize speed. All roads are smooth pavement and the run course features Park Roads, paved Park Trails encircling a fountain-ed lake, and long stretches of boardwalk elevated above gorgeous wetlands. Elite Events offers unique and quality awards to all its winning athletes.
